The main campus of the Polytechnic is located in Sumbrungu near Bolgatanga, the capital of Upper East Region of Ghana. The Polytechnic started work at the former Meat Marketing Company building in Bukere, a suburb of Bolgatanga. Over the years, the Polytechnic has grown in terms of infrastructure, staff numbers and qualification, academic programmes as well as student numbers.
