Department of Accountancy

Fuseini Mahama

The Accountancy Department was carved out of the then Commercial Studies Department in 2006 to offer courses in Higher National Diploma in Accountancy. The Department, later in the 2009/2010 Academic year, introduced a part–time Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy. In the 2014/2015 Academic year, the Department collaborated with the then Kumasi Polytechnic to run BTech Accounting with Computing. The Department also introduced Diploma in Computerised Accounting (DCA) and Diploma in Banking Technology (DBT) in the 2015/2016 Academic year and in 2017/2018 Academic year, introduced Professional Diploma in Computerised Accounting (PDCA).

Department Units are yet to be populated.

  • B-Tech Accounting with Computing in collaboration with Kumasi Technical university (Part-Time)
  • Higher National Diploma (HND) Accountancy (Full-Time and Part-Time)
  • Professional Diploma in Computerised Accounting (Part-Time)

  • Diploma in Computerised Accounting (Part-Time)
  • Diploma in Banking Technology (Part-Time)

The Department has plans to offer the following on Part-time basis in the near future:

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA, Ghana.) Parts I,  II and III
  • Micro-Finance/Bookkeeping
  • Institute of Chartered Bankers (ICB) Parts I and II
  • Run a top-up programme in B. Tech. Accountancy
  • Run Short Courses in Accounting Software
