The HND Marketing programme was started in 2003/2004 Academic year to offer training in marketing and its related courses to deserving students. Generally, the secondary and tertiary sectors of the Ghanaian Economy is on the growth as industries such as manufacturing and services are expanding and would need graduates with the necessary knowledge, skills and capabilities to manage these industries. The Marketing programme is thus aimed to offer career focused, demand driven courses that equip students with core functional and technical competencies geared towards solving manpower needs of commerce and industries as well as rendering superior consultancy services to the general public.

The HND Marketing programme is designed to meet the needs of the marketing executives or others desirous of this knowledge. Students are equipped with comprehensive foundation knowledge about the business organization and the environment it operates. This includes not only the core elements of business studies to enable the trainee in sales/marketing to have a working understanding of all the main business studies and functional areas, but also knowledge of the present day business environment.

Future Plans

The department plans to start running an eighteen-month top-up Bachelor of Technology (B-Tech) degree in Marketing beginning from the 2018/2019 academic year.

We are also in the process of introducing a Diploma program in Public and Media Relations intended for professionals and students who want to gain knowledge in this important area of corporate affairs.
