BP-Library


The Library is a major scholarly resource for the Polytechnic and surrounding communities. It comprises the main Library and the Bukere Campus library situated at the heart of regional capital, Bolgatanga.The Polytechnic Library at its current location (Sumbrungu Campus) was opened to students and the general public in November, 2010.

Our core mandate is to provide an enabling environment for knowledge discovery and learning. We have a dedicated and motivated team of staff whose ambition is to ensure user satisfaction. The library has a well-resourced, up-date and rich collection of about four thousand assorted books aimed at supporting the various faculties of study and students, as well as enable lecturers to enhance their research work

Units under the Library


Acquisitions and Cataloguing

This unit is responsible for procuring and organizing resources in order to improve processing time, enhance physical security and facilitate access to the collection.

Circulation Library

This is the unit Lending books are kept and thus responsible for registering fresh students and providing them with library ID Cards to enable them borrows library material in the circulation library as well as assessing materials at the reference library. The unit also educate students about how to use the library effectively.

Reference Library

Reference books, past questions and other materials of all kinds are found here.Reprography and photo-copies can be obtained here. It also serves as reading hall.

Bukere Campus Library

This unit has collection for use by B’ Tech, HND Part-time and DBS Students.

Bindery

This is where project work, worn-out books, newspapers etc are bound.

E-Library

The library is dynamic with a focus on adapting to the changing landscape of Librarianship. A new unit was thus created to take advantage of e-resources in support of faculty and research.
