The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) is an association which represents the entirety of students of Bolgatanga Polytechnic. The SRC plays an active role in the academic as well as the welfare matters of students. It directs the activities of all the various clubs or sub-associations in the Polytechnic with the principal aim of safeguarding students’ welfare.

The SRC is governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, the Statutes of the Polytechnic and the SRC Constitution. All matters of students are channeled and governed through the SRC. The SRC coordinates, collaborates and promotes general welfare and interests of students with internal and external authority and publics.

It is the strategic mouthpiece of students on academic, social, political and economic matters within the borders of the Polytechnic. Its membership and leadership is on annual basis.
